LOL good call these little birds are extremely twitchy and quick, they don't just move fast i call it teleportation
one second they're infront then they're behind LOL. I heard them in this bush chittering away and stood camera to the eye
ready for one to emerge, i got 2 shots this one and a empty frame.

hehe hehe - I got the tail of a cardinal yesterday - just the tail. I have a lot of empty sky frames where crows have been.

I'll say i get plenty of empty frames and tails too, its the out of focus ones i don't like. Just keep clicking

I seem to have to wait between clicks with my camera - perhaps because I am shooting RAW or maybe it is just my camera isn't that great.

What type of camera is it? you might get gaps in shooting if you overun the buffer, quite easy to do shooting in RAW.

Panasonic Lumix FZ18 - not an SLR but a bridge camera.

I looked at a Nikon D90 SLR camera today $1300 - with 2 lenses - but I don't have the $$ right now.

Nice bit of kit, you get great performance from it. yes the D90 SLR would offer much more. but money makes the world go round!!!!!!
and at the moment theres not much of it for us. the Greedy bankers are in the process of pulling the rug from under us LOL.

Oh yes the bankers were greedy but so were a lot of people living on credit way past what they could pay. This was a fall waiting to happen, I have predicted it for years. I mean who ever thought it would make sense to gamble retirement money? When I first heard that I was stunned - but people bought it hook line and sinker. I just hope folks find some sense in all this and change their patterns.

Well its grim getting over here, 27th im done at work. And absolutley no job prospects, everyone i know are either taking cuts or unemployed.
And this is just the begining, we are yet to live in it. i don't watch or listen to radio much at all so don't go with all the Spin. I think
of the words of former British Defence Secretary Dennis Healey, "World events do not occur by accident. They are made to happen, whether it is to do with national issues or commerce; and most of them are staged and managed by those who hold the purse strings.

I believe you need to submit your photos for consideration to Nature Magazines. It may not pan out immediately, but you are better than the photographers they have in NG. If it only supplements your income, it will help. I truly feel that would be a good step for you. If not now when?
I will think very good thoughts for your success.

Cheers!!! for the support i have actually been looking into various options, publishers etc etc. I've also been looking around at what the
professionals and the established photographers are taking as a benchmark. Very encouraging really as everything i saw i could interpret
how to take, i saw nothing that i couldn't achieve myself. Im realising this is probably now the time to use my hobby and talent to help make a living.
even if it means not just wildlife, maybe even weddings etc etc i've learn't a lot of wildlife photoghers make most money from other avenues too.
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience and the equipment, i just need a good break!!!!!!.
