I love this guy's design :DThis took so so so long to do ;n; Like, 16 hours alone just to get the sketch of the body somewhat close to good. The only thing that gives me fleeting hope is that my first title card took me 12 hours and now they take 2 - 4, so maybe someday I'll be better and faster at drawing other things. *cries into keyboard*

I've super wanted a Mirage ever since I read about what he does to Getaway. Is the CW a good representation of him?
Also, while there are a few issues I have with the anatomy and placement of kibble and whatevers, he looks really cool! I'm sure you'll definitely improve like you said. You always nail the faces and colors, tho. Those look great.
Also also, I kinda find it funny that it looks like he has your initial for a tramp stamp on his thighΒ

Hmmmmm CW Mirage? *googles* wow am I dumb or something I didn't know there was one XD He looks pretty good. To be honest my favorite Mirage toy is MMC's Ocular Sphinx, which is based on his G1 design. I don't know why, but that toy is just so pretty to me *u* But like many 3P toys, it is quite expensive.
A lot of the toys with the body similar to how I drew here look really odd to me. The CW toy looks ok tho :) I'd say hunt around for reviews and see if you like the transformation and the posability. My favorite thing about Mirage has always been his face/head- there's no one else* like him. It reminds me of Egyptian style headdresses for Pharaohs.
As for if the CW toy reflects his characterization... hmm. I'm not really sure D: I don't have much of a handle on JRO's take on him. Most of my personal interpretations of him are sorta head canon-y, based on nebulous glints taken from G1 and fandom.
*excepting repaints or whatever esoteric remolds Hasbro has come up with XD
hmmm... now I might need a Mirage lol. I only have him in plushie form :)

That's a very cool and intense response about the sphinx boy.
I'm probably gonna get CW Mirage some day or another, since my collecting habits are targeting more towards MTMTE/Lost Light dudes. I really like that head as well. Its neat how some designs are just pretty unique like that.
Also not very familiar with him in the comics, but he always seems to appear, do something super important, and disappear forever. Fittin considering his power i guess. Like, he got that Spotlight comic, then he got beat up by Ironhide, and then he combined with Optimus, and thats about all I know.

Yeah, that's pretty much all I know of him from comics, too, and mostly gleaned from the wiki :c
