has been churning out the great linework recently, and this beamer.deviantart.com/art/Auto… is no exception.
I really wanted to do good work on it......... and struggled. (also scanner blahblahblah)

Things I Tried With Varying Success:
1.) A Warm and a Cool Black. I really wasn't sure how much if any of Jazz's tummy to leave white. It seemed like there was a real danger of over-complicating his shape if I made parts white and parts black. I may have gone too far with the black, made too much of him dark. But once you put down a color that dark -- even just the underlayer of highlight -- there's no going back to a believable white. So I tried using a warm and a cool black to separate bits without making him look like a checkered tile floor! I'm not sure it worked -- some o' them bits'r readin' Blue-as-Blue, an' others jus' look messy. x2 I feel like I ought to learn from this, but I fear what I need to learn is that sometimes you gotta just start over. And I was too lazy to do that this time.
2.) I do like that yellow background. I know, it's the easiest bit. But I did do some shading, and some thoughtful swooshing of the ink-brush...... (Wheeee!)
3.) I, uh, used different reds and blues than I usually do? Does that count? It was enjoyable, at least!
