the textures are interesting, I assume this is why I know, just looking at the piece, you've used painter and not ps ( as you pointed in your email )

DAMMIT! >.< accidentally hit the send button... Ok, fuck..
(...) take the foreground stuff (grass and figure) and "flip" them horizontally, so she'd be in the right corner, instead. Cause right now, you have a huge blank on both sides of that axis I was talking about; and I think that would help the balance a bit (I hope :S)
Dunno, see how it works. You can play around with all the elements here, I'm quite sure that's what you're missing, and not any new ones. (:

haha, thanks a lot. you're totally right about those empty spots to either side of the axis -- that's where i was considering chucking in some more elements, such as cargo balloons overhead in the top left, and a motley caravan going down the hill to the bottom right. i can see immediately how your suggestion would work though, and it'd be a much quicker fix. Man, all this input on this one piece has me thinking i actually might finish it up

Coming along really nice, man. The background especially. My advice, use some brighter colors in the foreground, to add contrast and make it stand out some more.
Also, I don't know if that's what you were going for, but the composition seems to be following an oblique "line", starting at the girl, through the city, the mountain, and finally on the other distant mountains. You know what I mean? I think it would benefit it you took the whole "foreground"

You need a meadow full of flowers and butterflies and happy prancing deer and unicorns.

vomit.
and there's no such thing as happy unicorns, they're twisted, bloodthirsty animals

But they're happy when they're goring some poor unfortunate animal/person with their horns.
