I haven't worn them with my costume yet, but I have worn them around my house and the paint doesn't break. The shoes I used have a small platform, so the shoe doesn't bend much when I walk. The paint I used is also flexible, so what little the shoe does bend, the paint bends with it.

Awesome shoes and tutorial ^ ^! I am making goggles for my Jak and Daxter costume, also with of craft foam. And I was wondering how I am going to paint them. Can you also cover the paint with varnish? Thanks!
