I've been finishing up the Rurouni Kenshin manga and felt the need to draw the Battousai. I've gotten halfway through volume 24 as of now ... anyone spoils me for the rest and I SPORK YOUR EYEBALLS OUT.Sketch (in scraps here ) originally done in Photoshop, then imported into MangaStudio for the inking and toning. If you want to see the inks without the tones, you have to go to my LJ aaaaaaaaaall the way over here .

oh, and i forgot to mention how much i like the flow of the hair and the tattered edge on his gi, and the fierceness of his expression just stops me cold (as, indeed, it's intended to!)

Awesome picture... brilliant foreshortening... also, Kenshin owns... have fun finishing the series. personally, I think it's the best manga ever, and one of the greatest stories of our time... It's a shame that the Jinchuu arc wasn't put in the show... still, awesome pic

I think this is great, it has a nice dynamic action feel, the wrinkles in the clothing look nice too. The only real problem I have is with his left eye ( by the scar ) it seems to be a little too low. I think if you raised it a little more it'd make it look better. If I put my thumb over that side of the face and then remove it, I expect the eye to be higher. ( Or maybe lower the other one
