Description A render I did to show off my robot ninja soldier. I used those buildings again. This is probably the last render for a while from this perspective. I like to use this perspective if you have not noticed!! lol!! Large grenader robot and regular robot soldier coming soon. If I ever get some time to model.

Well this was quite a while ago. I used Wings3d for the model. It's freeware do a search for it. Also Vue 4. Vue is now up to ver. 8 or 9. It's not free though.

Looking at that mech, I'm rmeinded of the Behemoth model that Mektek released in one of their Mekpaks for MW4: Mercenaries.

TDBK In reply to TheOnlyWarman [2005-07-19 12:13:26 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! Well, I just model as I go. I don't usually use any refrences. I use wings3d for modeling it's free if you want to check it out. --> [link]

i'm trying it but how can i refrence the files afterwards to maya in case i want to animate

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TDBK In reply to TheOnlyWarman [2005-07-20 21:36:30 +0000 UTC]

You would have to export the model into a format that maya can inport from. Try 3d studio format .3ds or wavefront .obj format. I'm not sure what formats maya can inport. I have only used maya once.

TheOnlyWarman In reply to TDBK [2005-07-20 21:43:55 +0000 UTC]

i think it only accepts maya binary .mb anyway i coulndt use wings that good so im sticking with maya for some time

Love the complexity and details. Plus you textured it on the top of everything else... I don't think I can beat you after this one with the stuff I am working on right now...

wow, great angle, are the robots of masurao series about human size? *trying to compare sizes*

the texture of KNK looks wicked, I like

btw i've been noticing something weird in your trees now I know what it is... they show no signs of root! put some root on them man

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TDBK In reply to jackmcslay [2004-11-24 21:29:28 +0000 UTC]

Thanx!! haha!! Yea, well roots are great and all but I have to keep the polys low because this scene alone is almost 3,000,000 poly's! The robots are around 8-1/2 - 9 feet tall.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jackmcslay In reply to TDBK [2004-11-24 23:48:19 +0000 UTC]

too much polys kills your pc? hmm you could decrease the amount of faces of the trees then, they're not close so I guess it wound't hurt if you use lower poly models for trees and that should give room for roots

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TDBK In reply to jackmcslay [2004-11-25 00:02:50 +0000 UTC]

No it does not kill my pc. It kills vue. I need the new version! I have an old version that I bought off of a friend. I can't patch it bacuase I do not have an offical account with them. I'm saving up for the pro version! What's funny is the trees are pretty low poly already! It's the mech's the robots and the terrain that have most of the polys.

jackmcslay In reply to TDBK [2004-11-25 00:08:45 +0000 UTC]

$400.00 Right now. It will go back up to $500 soon though.

Evil mechs have no time for cleanup and polish, too many good guys to zap.
Like the weapon designs.

Remember that picture we were collaborating on?
Finally got to do the low level grunts. I hope I can fit everything in. Added 2 to the scene need 6 more.

I would sell my computer but where will my hamsters live?

TDBK In reply to sevenofeleven [2004-11-24 14:56:05 +0000 UTC]

Haha! Yea, mechs are dirty usually! I thought you were never going to do that scene? I know you did not say that but It's been soo long dude! I can't wait to see it man! Have a good one!

sevenofeleven In reply to TDBK [2004-11-24 16:08:50 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, you enjoy your Thankgiving.

Nah its being worked on.
I try to finish everything I work on even if it takes years.
Since the first grunt is done, I just have to move the legs and arms on the next 3.

dmbadcat [2004-11-23 22:55:08 +0000 UTC]

sweet dude! I love the mechs, and every other robot in there... the trees are cool and the sky is neat... but the buildings and the ground don't fit in... the ground seems too... flat, perfect... maybe the textures is messed... I dunno... and the buildings seem to have some awful bright white on them... other than those two things, the image really combines well and again, incredible job on the mech and textures! very cool looking
