MerMay 2021 - 13th prompt

I do miss scuba diving.

I can remember my first night dive, turning off the torch and instead of being cast in total darkness seeing the water around me become illuminated by bioluminescent algae that surrounded me as if I were in space surrounded by stars.

I can remember that one time a sea turtle swam by me, and only my divemaster managing to grab me by my fins and pull me back, not realizing in my fascination I had wandered dangerously towards the abyss.

I remember seeing a shark in the wild, sleeping inside a cave at the bottom of a coral-covered cliff as I dared not to approach it but found it fascinating to just float there and watch.

I remember the time I panicked while I was training due to a discomfort in my throat as I wasn't quite accustomed to breathing dry oxygen quite yet, immediately inflated my BCD and ascended to the surface. My divemaster surfaced not long after, with a look of panic in his eyes as he expected me to be bleeding through my eyes and ears since I had made an emergency ascent from 15ft and was told that that was a dangerously stupid thing to do.

And need I say anything about the corals?
