I re-read them all lately and the art is oozing out...

So in the sea of monsters the Fleece cures Thalia's tree of its poison and Thalia herself is spewed out of the tree. Chiron realizes that everything that had happened had been to bring back Thalia, just to "put another chess piece into play". Annabeth is found leaning over Thalia so Percy can't see either of them clearly, and he thinks it's Annabeth who is on the ground unconscious.
This is when Annabeth stumbles upon her friend.
