One year before

Kureema woke up underwater. She felt a stab of pain and clutched her chest, she was still bleeding! She knew that she didn't have much time..

...Present Kureema was hugging her boyfriend. Going to the pier at night would be so romantic!...

Future Kureema was so glad that they lived near the sea! She swam over to the beach. She looked up at the house. This...was going to be difficult.

As Present Kureema and her boyfriend were getting ready to go, they heard a knock.
"Oh, who would be coming over this late at night!" Present Kureema said, going over to the door to answer it.
"Hang on a sec," the boyfriend rushed over to answer the door with her.
He pulled the door open and someone clutching a stick for balance fell in, and hit the floor, gasping.
"What the hell! She is soaking wet!" Their boyfriend yelled surprisedly.
"Oh, my god!" Present Kureema shrieked.
Future Kureema looked up. "Oh! You are still alive!.. All this time I have gone without you!" she stared at him in the eyes. Seeing him alive made her so happy...
"Who are you??" Present Kureema said. "you look just like me.. Why?!"
"Because..." She said in between gasps. "I am you. And do not... go to the pier. He will die.. if you do... and you will be... very, very sad ................... And this.. is from Toa.. .keep it......" she opened a hand that had the pearl in it.
Present Kureema blinked, then took the pearl, and said while staring at it: "You are.. From the future??"
She nodded weakly.
"And not to go to the pier, because he will ..die why?"
"...Yes . A year ago  - no,  today ..he got... shot ... to the head...." She closed her eyes, and laid her head down, still barely breathing.
"Okaaay, I.. I  guess we wont go tonight." Present Kureema looked at her boyfriend and he stared back at her.

When they back at where future Kureema was, she was gone.
No water anywhere, like there should have been, as she was so wet.
No blood, like the way there should have been, as she was bleeding so bad.
No sign of her remained, as she didn't exist.....

Ten years later

Kureema went running to the beach. She dropped to her knee's near the water, and trailed a few fingers in it. It swirled around her fingers in acknowledgment.
She smiled. She had been doing this ever since that weird night ten years ago. She came here every day, and didn't know why, really. She just felt as though she had to do this.

The sea was  calmer. People could actually go swimming now.

All was well with the inhabitants of the sea. Although Toa felt like someone was missing.

Kureema's husband, the man who had been her boyfriend at that time, came up to her from behind and hugged her.
She turned around and hugged him back. She lifted a hand that had a bracelet that which had a pearl attached to it, bringing it to his face to touch him as she kissed him
"I want to go scuba diving sometime." Kureema said softly, staring at him.
