Gaara was lying on the roof with a content expression, blood spattered all over him from a long night. The sun was just barely peeking over the horizon. He enjoyed watching the sun rise, because it meant that Shukaku wouldn't mess with him much until night would fall again.
It didn't even bother him when his older sister crept up to talk to him. Which didn't happen much.
What did bother him was when she looked at him as though she was going to say somthing important.
"Gaara, um..." Temari started.
Gaara looked up at her lazily.
"We're.." She continued nervously.
He stared at her waiting for her to continue.
"We are.."
"Just spit it out, I'm not going to kill you.. More than likely."
Her eyes widened. "We are moving to America!" She said in such a rush that she was hardly understood.
"What?"
"We are moving to America." She said squeakily, being so afraid.
He stared for a few minutes. Temari started to shake in fear slightly.
Then finally, he asked, "what's an america?"

Temari explained to Gaara as they packed that it was a free country, blah blah blah. And that it was more technology advanced, blah blah blah. "And.. you'll have to go to school."
"Why?"
"Um.. Gee, I don't know..."
Gaara's eyes narrowed. She jumped in a startled fear.
"And..." She was starting to become to afraid to continue, again.
"And what?" He asked, getting impatient.
She squeaked "You'll have to be getting ready at six."
"But that's when I..." He trailed off, not liking this predicament. He continued in his mind, 'That's when I go to bed.' He glared at the shirt he was holding. He threw it into the suitcase with so much more force than necissary that it flipped the suitcase over throwing his stuff all over the floor behind it. He hissed in anger at the suitcase's easy ability to flip.
After glaring at it for five minutes he made the sand put all of his things back in the stupid thing.
If Temari wern't so afraid of being killed, she might of laughed.
"Hey, hey, are you guys ready yet?" Kankuro asked appearing from the doorway.
Gaara gave him a death glare. He flinched. "What's his problem?" he asked Temari.
She looked at him helplessly, worrying that speaking about the suitcase flipping might anger him beyond the limit.

After an airplane trip, which Kankuro nearly threw up on and Gaara couldn't have been more thrilled about, they stepped off the airplane and for the first time, touched American soil.
The surrounding tall, square buildings were quite amazing to them.

When the three (parents paid for the trip.) finally made it to their apartment room they collapsed in exhaustion. It had been a long day and now they were suffering from major jet lag. While Temari and Kankuro were crabby about not getting much sleep, Gaara was just fine. After all, he was used to sleep depravity.
After Temari and Kankuro has passed out on the couches, Gaara went out to the balcony to observe the view of the city. It was going to be another long night....

Sometime in the middle of the night, Gaara got tired of just watching the city. He wanted to explore.
As he put a foot onto the rail, about to leap to the ground, he heard Temari mumbling in her sleep.
"Gaa...ra... Don't go.. you know that we.. secretly love you.. as siblings..."
He stared back at her in shock. She was too afraid of him to admit that to his face.... He shook his head and jumped down into the concrete jungle that was now his home...

About an hour or two after Gaara left, Kankuro woke up needing a glass of water.. He paled a little when he realized Gaara was gone. He shook Temari and told her the news. She had the same reaction. She said "But where could he have gone? I hope nothing happens to him.. The people here are... different.... What if...?"

Gaara walked calmly down the street, oblivious to the approaching gang, as he was so distracted by the huge diffrence of Japan and This Place.
"Is the wittle girl lost?" One of the gang people asked, mocking his eye tats. Gaara stopped walking.
"What's that marking on your beautiful face? Dose it say 'demon' or sumting?" Another asked, not knowing how close he was to the truth.
Gaara glared. These people had to be stupid.
"What's your name princess?"
"Subaku no Gaara." Gaara replied, knowing they wouldn't know a word of what he said.
"Su.. bakoo noh Gala?" (AN: That's about how we Americans say it)
"..Hai." ...Close enough "...Nanio?" Gaara was wondering why they were staring like idiots.. "Baka-ne.."
They looked at each other "This kid ain't even American... Nobody will miss him if we killed him, I bet."
Gaara looked amused. It looked as though he was going to get his nightly bloodshed. He smiled. 'Bring it on'
"Get 'im!" One charged at him, which Gaara merely used his sand to knock him away. He slammed into a wall and crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
Another charged, then another. Sand encased them both. They started screaming in fear. Gaara reached both hands out. "Subaku Sousou!" Blood showered the area. The remaining part of the gang ran for their lives. They might have lived, but Gaara's bloodlust had taken over. Sand gripped at two of the remaining three's heels. having them fall to the ground. Sand killed them instantly. The last one turned a corner and out of sight. Sand shot around the corner. Blood came flying toward the opposite direction, signalling that he was dead.
Gaara forgot all about the unconscious one, and left.

"G-Gaara.." Temari said worriedly. She was about to approach him but then noticed that he was completely soaked in blood, and his eyes seemed to be of teal colored fire. "Not.. again"
