Description

    In the lands of Atheae, there are many different sects within the Church. Each of the Gods of Olympus has His or Her own devout followers, priesthood, and formal church organization. There is little overarching command structure to the Church, little to make a cohesive single Church hierarchy. Rather, there are constant squabbles, accusations, recriminations, and the occasional outright attack. When the priests or priestesses of one sect or another start to become a problem, there is one group within the Church that has inherited the responsibility of keeping them in line and punishing their transgressions. They are primarily worshippers of Zeus, the Atheaen Confessors.

    Born into the sisterhood of the Confessors of the Church of Atheae, Persistence never really had much choice to be anything else in her life. Her mother served the Confessors her whole life and as first born daughter, she was the natural choice to serve as her mother’s successor. Her father was a Dragonwarrior from Hellenia, so she grew up travelling back and forth between the two nations. Though she was educated at the Raidon Royal Academy, she still pursued a career in the priesthood as an Inquisitor and Confessor.

    In recent years, however, as temples pop up along the eastern coast line, the strife between the various sects, and the improper behavior of some of the priests and priestesses, so far from Atheae, has brought dishonor on the Church. Persistence is one of many who has taken the oath to go north into the wildlands of the horsemen and bring the church in line with its mandates and its service to the people and the Gods. Trained in her father's fighting style of Drakon, she prefers a longsword and a dagger in close combat. To strike fear in her evil enemies, she always keeps a Halo spell ready. And if that doesn't work, a Bull's Strength and Shield of Faith might be called for.
