how do you even get it that beautifully dark and not have pencil lines?!

Oh, sorry, this is one of my not-scanned drawings. I took a photo. If you look so good, you see brighter places.
But if drawings are scanned, they are darker. Of course, I can be wrong, because preferences of scanners are different. Each scanner can be different.
