I saw the horrific Chipmunks trailer when I went to see Enchanted this weekend. My friends and I exchanged glances full of shock, and mutual concern. What have we done, I ask you?Anyway, it made me hunt down clips from the old chipmunks movie, made of 80's and bad fashion and excellent animation. I felt better.
I stole my boyfriend's tablet long enough to doodle for a bit, since mind is kaput. My favorite Chippette came out of it. (Er.. a bit older. Obviously.)

wow, the cipmunks! That has been so long ago that at first I didn't even realize who the girl in the picture was supposed to be, there was just something very familiar about her - and then I read the description and it was all clear. xD

WAAH~! i just watched this last week for the first time in YEARS! i forgot how incredible the animation, story, and songs were. haha, i loved the chipmunks and chipettes..i really liked how although jeanette was the smart one, she wasn't a complete introvert. i like the attitude they all had, and i looove "Girls Of Rock And Roll" XD i need to learn their little dance moves they do on the air balloon..
i just saw the trailer for the new movie last week, too, and although it looks kinda fun..it's not the chipmunks. it's..something.

I love this. lol. I KNEW there were female Chipmunks somewhere too! The CGI thing scares me, but the cartoons rock. Plus, apparently I am a chipmunk (ah, in jokes ftw), so it's especially cool for that reason.

I think... I'm going to go see the new movie. Matinee, of course. But I think I'm the only one of my friends who has the guts too. I'm really really REALLY hoping that they're just showing us the crap in the trailor and that the movie has the same heart that the series and the Chimpunk Adventure had.
The only thing that concerns me is that in the cartoon, they weren't exactly chipmunks so much as chimpunk-shaped children, you know? (Just like Mickey Mouse isn't exactly a mouse but a mouse-shaped human.) And in the movie, they clearly are chipmunks.

Dont feel bad you werent the only one horrified, i just can't belive how butchered the story is. They look cute, i just with they were the correct size!! Plus i hate that they just magically show up at daves instead of thier mother leaving them... crazy ass hollywood people...
