Balloons! v1Bounce Fluttershy across the screen to pop the balloons, and score points! The more points you get, the higher you can go!
(there is a cap though: The top of the screen.)
Use the left and right arrow keys to tell Twilight and AJ to bounce their friend back into the air.
Also, the magic jukebox of cupcakes. There are 5 songs from RainbowCrash88's fantastic youtube channel for you to sift through at your leisure.

Yes. That is because this game is old, and rather kind of suck-like. The phenomenon you are encountering is supposed to be a sort of "stop menu", but is very poorly done.
