Wow! This is great! I wonder if this is what that 1933 would've looked like had he not street-rodded that thing.....

I wondered where this went.... The "X" & I were part of the "LA conservancy" under the sanctions of "Paramount".. This sat in the main foyer through the "OLD GATE".... This was used in one of "W. C. Fields" movies.. In the movie, (which is historically correct) he sold an old clunker and moved to San Gabriel valley.... when they saw the land that he'd purchased on the trip,,,,, the wife was distraught,,,,  then 2 gentleman showed up,,,, gave/sold the land to the 2 men and they built "Santa Anita Raceway".

I stay on the far side of the lens for a reason.  I'm too ugly to photograph - the cameras keep committing suicide.

Still doesn't change the fact that the cameras all mysteriously break whenever they try to capture an image of me.

Very cool. I'm writing an historical fiction thriller series in the Prohibition era, set in Chicago, Napa/Sonoma wine country and Hollywood. Just finishing the third book set in 1927. In the fourth book set in 1928 my main characters are producing and directing a movie for Jesse Lasky at Famous Players/Lasky which became Paramount. Might have to write this Pierce-Arrow into the story, delivering a Paramount star to a speakeasy. It was exciting, interesting and dangerous times.

Very specifically, this car was used to transport Marlene Dietrich to & from her home in the Hollywood Hills.

Also, sounds like an awesome series!
