You may have noticed I'm slowly phasing myself out of DeviantArt. From a high of 390 deviations posted in July 2014, to not having posted more than 16 in any month since November.
I started slowing down towards the end of 2017, having made the conscious decision to leave at the end of that year, only to be gifted a Core subscription for Christmas. I wasn't going to let it go to waste (that would be a slap in the face to the person gifting it), so I gave Jacki what she requested: polls and lots of them. I used that time to try and get back into dA. I failed. So I knew when Core was up, so was my time here. That time has come.
DeviantArt has become less about the art and more about social networking. Those who know me know how much I despise social networking - if I wanted to be on Facebook, I'd be on Facebook. The point is I don't. And quite frankly, I don't want to be here any more either. And it's been quite some time since I have.
I'll miss the people - I've had some good times here. But this site continues to spiral down the toilet and like many before me, I want no further part of it.
I'm not deactivating. At least not yet. I'm gonna give it some time and see if I miss it. See if I want to come back. I'll be checking in periodically, so if anyone wants/needs to get a hold of me, you can still reach me here. Just be patient - it may be weeks before I see your message.

I hope to heck you don't deactivate, even if you DO leave for good, I'll miss your massive collection of photos and all of that. There's tons of cars I didn't even know existed until I saw your photos of them!

Figured something was up- wasn't sure if you were just busy with life (been in peak landscaping season since mid May; haven't had time to do anything on the PC aside from check parts invoices and schedule jobs) or if something else was at play. Thank you for being transparent about things to the best of your ability. Saw some residue of those going down the poop chute moments you alluded to but nowhere near enough to know the full story.
Note me your car show itinerary from September thru mid November. Because I will definitely have open weekends for multi day trips in PA- especially now with the Airbnb that I found in Denver. Might even have something open up in mid/late August, but that depends heavily on work as well as some other people's plans. Promised two different friends that we'd tour Ithaca over a weekend, promised Mattmang that we'd hit Saranac Lake/Adirondacks over a weekend too.

I saw your journal entry, and well, I don't normally shoot flowers but I have a few in my gallery. Daffodils are always a particular favorite, and they definitely fit the spring theme of the contest. I'm not a dedicated flower photographer, but all in all I think that one came out pretty good.
Sadly, my daffodils are already fading for the year, and the rest of my garden is mostly weeds at the moment. Working on that, though they're pesky and refusing to die.

Nah, it's not too bad. I'll see if I can eradicate them with what's left, but if not I'll get another container and go from there. I'm probably using more than necessary, but these weeds (sadly I don't even know what they are - they're prickly things though!) are persistent. I want them gone this year. Just hoping that my tiger lilies won't be collateral damage. So far so good...
