What a waste of car :/

I know. Unfortunately cars don't last forever, and most other places this one would have been recycled decades ago. Instead it still exists to donate parts periodically.

Looking at the bright side, eh?

I have to. As badly as I'd love to see this one back on the road I know it really is too far gone.

At least it hasn't been crushed and turned into a Geely yet.

The sad eventual fate of most cars. A moment of silence for them.

So you're saying that a car could theoretically get crushed and the metal could be used to make the car's evil Chinese doppelganger?

Yes!

Also, your signature.  I support G1 Downshift for president.

At Shrock Brothers, right? Shame that it's in this condition...

Found a '56 Power Hawk for sale near me, if I had the money for insuring and maintaining an orphan-make classic and secure covered space for one, I'd love to have it.

They have a junkyard out back- and I have many more pictures to share from there. It's almost completely Studebakers and Volvos. A few odd cars out (a Renault Dauphine!) are mixed in too, but for the most part Studes & bricks. These are their parts cars and while it's sad to see them in this shape, they're at least serving multiple purposes right now: keeping other cars alive and serving as quite possibly the world's most scenic junkyard.

I hope you shot some pics of the Hawk!

Cool, I agree there, it's sad, but they are useful. Horopito Motors in New Zealand came close, as did the Autofriedhof Kaufdorf in Switzerland. The place I did a shoot at is close, was a working but not popular junkyard at one time but mostly a hoarding situation, but is now a place where cars and antiques are finding new homes (it may be on American Pickers someday, watch for a place in Oregon with a lot of old signs, bicycles, motorcycles and gas pumps if you are a fan!)

I hope to get pics of that Hawk if I decide to pull the trigger on 1 of 2 cars I'm interested in there (a 1973 Ford Ranchero or a late 70s Buick LeSabre that looks like a Mafia car), tho I'm more interested in building a daily-driver Bluesmobile tribute on a 1977 to mid-80s Caprice/Impala or 1979-87 Crown Vic. Closest things easily and cheaply available to a 1974 Monaco.

If you're going to make a Bluesmobile, why not do the '88-'91 Crown Vic and make it a "Blue Brothers 2000" replica. Lame movie (not only could it not compare to the original, I couldn't get all the way through it...it was just plain bad), but more authentic replica without spending a fortune for a Monaco.

That's a pretty good idea!
