I agree. Fire is definetly that most emotional of characters.

Ya know, I loved Barney. I loved Dinosaurs. Especially the T-Rex. I remember one Christmas morning getting a three-foot-tall T-Rex figure with blood dripping teeth, bright red eyes, and freakishly long claws and not being afraid of it. In fact, it was my favorite toy ever!! But Teletubbies scared me... The Secret of Nimh scared me... Hocus Pocus scared me... MY DAD PRICKED HIS FINGER ON A CACTUS AND I SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER!! Yet I wasn't afraid of a Dinosaur that could gobble me up in a second? I scare myself...

How pretty! It reminds me of my pastel work. I never could get watercolors to obey, they just ran all over the page and laughed at me.

I know how you feel. One tip my mom gave me in case you didn't already know is start with back grounds first and do the closest objects last. Less water means more control so I dry brush it a lot.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

cinekimi In reply to Swashbookler [2007-12-26 07:59:15 +0000 UTC]

I would try and dry brush it too, but then I'd get to a big spot and I'd get impatient. So I would just blob it on there and wa-lah, messy painting. Thanks for the tips though!

Swashbookler In reply to cinekimi [2007-12-27 03:40:22 +0000 UTC]

What also helps with large spots is take a large brush and dampen the paper lightly in just that area but not enough for the water to run then go over it with paint.

cinekimi In reply to Swashbookler [2007-12-27 06:45:54 +0000 UTC]

Oooh smart! Wet the paper, I see....thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Swashbookler In reply to cinekimi [2007-12-27 06:48:32 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it really helps to spread stuff around. Also another very helpful thing is to get a bottle of liquid latex, from an art or craft store and you can paint it onto the paper and it will prevent paint from going onto that area and when your ready to paint that or just leave it white you simply rub it off.
