this was something experimental for me and i'm happy as it turned out the way i wanted. i've seen photos like this somewhere, i can't define 'like this', but to me it seems like some sort of trend... i know the style won't please many, but that's life. i don't usually like it either but when i did it myself...
what i see is raw realism, it's so striking it makes you grin, but at the same time it gets beautiful in being kind of fragile. but the photo is not fragile, the person is real in front of a plastic background. time to stop explaining

She looks so serene, yet there's an edge to her expression that almost says "I may look vulnerable but if you cross me, you're dead."

She is absolutely lovely! Makes me wanna dig for my old beat-up Minolta... The shiny white plastic background makes an interesting contrast with her mate skin and red hair.

you picked an amazing model-you really are good at making the old-painting feel come out in your works...you have a wonderful way of portraying women that way(IMO)I like how she isnt smiling, and that she seems a bit self conscious with her hands the way they are. Its strange, the corners of her mouth are turned up a little but the rest of her face is serious. those eyebrows...the color in her eyes...

The subject should be more in the centre but I ain't bitching. I like the fact that her hair covers her breasts but not because I am a prude - simply it's original and subtle, what I love. Her expression is lovely too.

am i wrong in assuming you mean 'Real' as in how it is portrayed, not anything about the model or the shot itself?
i take real to mean what you see is what you get in this instance.
