Description 1970 Dodge Challenger Muscle Car. This was a fun car to build, i had a issue were the front glass got a finger mark from glue, so i sanded it and sprayed it with clear coat to fix it.
Its airbrushed with grey primer, Sunburst orange and clear coat (Model Master Paints).
This is my longest standing art form form when i was a kid.
Burn Rubber!

Thanks for looking!

Wow, that's cool.  I didn't even know you could repair the glass.  I always thought if you got anything on it, it's pretty much permanent.  Good to know.

Finest grit sandpaper you can get 5000 or higher and a light sanding if its not a deep issue and then clear coat.

Doesnt always work but it seemed to work for this project well.

If I have a gloss coat that has orange-peel pretty bad, can I dry sand or do I have to wet sand it to fix it?  Also, what grit should I use?

Sorry for the delay, For orange peel paint i would use a fine grit like 1000 or higher(the reason is it might take longer but it removes less paint and leaves smaller valleys in the surface).

A great mag i pick up when i can is called "finescale modler" which the march 2012 issue (vol.30 iss.3) has a article called 'Solving painting problems' with your airbrush and thier is a part on orange peeling.

Cause: Too thick of paint or holding the brush to far from the surface. (also drying time from air gun to the surface, dry climates change this as do wet ones)

Tip or solution:Thin paint to that of 2% milk and test on scrap material see how the airbrush distance effects the flow. When useing gloss paints make sure they are wet and heavy for best results.

Hope these help, make sure to test it all before hand, and if thier are decals under the clear coat be very careful to lightly wet sand it, wet sanding makes the dust less and you can see the surface clearly to dry that is dusty but you can tell the paint you are taking off.

Good luck and happy modeling.

Thanks a lot!  That stuff about the clear coat and the dusty, dry sanding will really come in helpful.  I'm assuming you can resolve almost any imperfection in this manner?

Hi, i belive i used Model Master SUNBURST ORANGE by Tester.
It was sprayied over a grey primer, i now use white primer as the color glows more, brighter.

And thank you I try to get better on doing the models and the photos are getting better as well.

Any questions ask
