my entry for this week's Bendis Board sketch thread [link] , with the them of video game, Mass Effect 2. I am not too familiar with the Mass Effect franchise--I've always been more of a Final Fantasy guy, but Bioware's RPG/shooter has quite a following, I've found. I did like what they did with Knights of the old Republic, but I've just never gotten around to checking out this series.Anyway, out of all the characters, I chose Miranda, since she's got curves.

Really loving this sharp style you've used here. She looks real mean! Overall just very stylish - the shadow, the window to a space background behind as setting, and the off angle too. Another thing I like is that you've given her clothing motion, as opposed to having it fit her perfectly skin-tight no matter what she's doing. Nice touch.
As a side note, I'm one of the admins for Mass Effect Miranda Lawson on Facebook (it's a fanpage, a small one) and we'd love to add your picture some time to one of the page's albums. We'd include reference to you as artist and a link to your original if you were willing..?
The page is not a massive one - we don't really cater to the masses. We run the page like we expect Miranda might - 3 parts science, 2 parts Miranda and Mass effect items, and 1 part Australia and fashion, all with a healthy dose of sarcasm and condescending tones.

Wonderful sketch of Miranda! You should definately check out the Mass Effect games! If you liked Final Fantasy, you'd enjoy the storytelling in the Mass Effect series.

Okay, so don't get this wrong:
The body, the background and your style... Everything is perfect.
But the face is kinda weird. It doesen't fit with the rest.
Because the rest looks so professional and the face does not.

I've never played any of the Mass Effect games, but the picture is great. I'm a fan of the Final Fantasy, and Knights Of The Old Republic to. My favorite FF game is FF6. What's yours?

Yeah its not like other RPGs especially the sequel, it resembles a third person shooter more especially in game mechanics. The RPG elements come into play with various player classes to choose from, multiple storyline paths, leveling up your character, and interacting and evoling relationships with your party members.

The story is what got me hooked. If you're like me it'll blow your mind, or at least have you thinking "what the ----?!"

Ive never played Mass Effect nor Final Fantasy. Mass Effect looks cool, but Ive never gotten what Final Fantasy was about.

yeah, final fantasy's not for everyone. it's traditionally been a turn-based RPG series with heavy emphasis on story. that can turn a lot of people off. but i've been playing the series since i was like 10, so i've been a fan for awhile.

Its not that I think its not interesting, but the series is like on what, #13? Iwouldnt be able to follow the thing from beginning to end.

ah, okay. well, thankfully--none of the games are connected, except for a few. each official entry is a standalone game. the exceptions being part x, which had a sequel titled 'x-2' and vii had some spinoff games. other than that, they never cross over!

If I'm not mistaken, most of the FF series holds up pretty well as standalone games. I know the only one I've ever played all the way through was FF7, and I had no problems following along.

Well I guess its just a matter of getting off my lazy ass and actually getting the game! Another Jap game series that I actually really like is Monster Hunter.
