Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII warm up doodle. I know this game has its detractors, but I loved it, especially the battle system. I've never been more enthused about RPG combat than with this game and FF XIII-2.

I too enjoyed the game, despite only getting halfway through disc 2 when I got distracted and haven't picked it up since. I hope to pick it up again someday and finish it.
People complained about the games linearity and single forced path that it puts you on, but I still found the story engaging enough to keep my investment for as long as it did. Plus, like you said, the combat system was something really great.
