great photo of a very interesting architecture.
composition and contrasts are nearly perfect.
the luxor looks so gigantic from the inside.
(read the comment above for some critic )

well, i like the picture a lot. its a great composition and tones are fine, but imho you chose the worst possible place for your copyright. maybe the most clever place for not getting ripped, but it really distracts from viewing the picture. so what, do you really think someone is making big money with a 800 pixel picture of only 80kb?

Old picture, taken with a cam I don’t use anymore, with a tech and processing I don’t use anymore… when archiffect asked me to post it I said OK anyway –I haven’t done proper architectural shots in a long time, and especially these days I’m more attracted by details and other things but one day I’d like to go back to it (and put the 16-35 to use again). About the β€œheavy” copyright… that’s from last spring when I started β€œworking” for the photo agency (seemed like a good deal at the time, not so sure about that anymore). They said it would be OK to post on the net at one condition, watermarking the pics –so one day I just got rid of one third of the gallery and watermarked the rest, the way you see here. I still do that (not a choice anyway) but in a much more discrete way…

Thanks a lot for the comment & appreciation

sad thing... you have no idea how much I hate watermarking the pics, and I'm sure it's the same for all of us on the net. but I never felt like posting 'pixelated' ultra-compressed ultra-lo-res jpegs like sometimes I see (I hate that aswell), quality is a must so I never go below '10' and 72 dpi -the best compromise I think.

I think absolutely in the same way over the copyright thing.
It's sad seeing so many great pictures on dA destroyed by watermarks :\

this is a very interesting composition. lighted windows along the right, drag the view downwards. but the dept of the perspective on the left is the innitial focal point.

Well done.

I love it
the perspective you chose here adds so much interest to the place.... I'm not sure exactly what that is on the right (I'm assuming stairs ), but it seems to jump right out of the screen at you!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sundreaming In reply to rubberman542 [2005-12-21 23:20:15 +0000 UTC]

well you have two ways to 'get' this pic... one, you know the place then you know what's it about -then you can compare the real thing to the interpretation. two, you don't know it so it's up to your fantasy to figure it out as a fact one would never guess the architecture of the pyramid from the outside -and even from the inside it's easy to forget what's it like on the outside. it's like a giant batcave... the rooms are on the four sides of it. a little world, like a borg starship

thanks a lot man appreciated as usual.

I've always wanted to go up to the actual rooms of the Luxor. Out of all the times I've been there, I've never gotten a chance. The architecture of the atrium is just stunning. Nice capture.
