She has a tendency to become over imaginative and usually comes up with improbable scenarios in her head, it usually leads her to getting all worked up and her husband has to bring her head back down from the clouds.

She’s very intuitive, relaying on her “gut” feeling more than a logical answer. She swears by her intuition and says that it rarely betrays her when she has to make a decision. History: Kiyoko is the youngest daughter of a former prostitute. Her mother was previously married to a wealthy man who inherited his parents money when they passed away. He soon started a gambling obsession and his drinking problem started to grow. He soon accumulated a debt due to his ill-responsiveness, and forcing his wife into prostitution to help him pay back his debts. They had a daughter named Miyuki who was sent to live with her grandmother on her maternal side. While working as a prostitute her mother became pregnant with Kiyoko by one of clients (who was a wandering samurai) who later on returned and paid the price for her freedom. At that moment she didn't know she was pregnant. When she did discover it her husband quickly divorced her. She turned to live with her parents and gave birth to Kiyoko, giving her this name because she wants her daughter to be innocent and pure and hopefully never endure becoming a prostitute.

Kiyoko spent a lot of her time with her grandmother and older half sister because her mother would work long hours trying to earn enough to get them by. In her time spent with her grandmother, she taught her how to steep teas and how to blend certain herbs to make different blends of teas. Her grandmother emphasized this saying that a good wife needs to know how to blend teas and serve teas to her husband and future family. She later on in her life used this as a skill to get herself a job at the Tea Shop.

Married to her husband Sousuke for the past 17 years now, she only works at the Tea Shop part time. She mostly stays at home with their children taking care of them and the house. Her first child came as a surprise to both Kiyoko and Sousuke, only being married for a year and Kiyoko just only turning 20 a few months prier. Even though they didn't expect it, they came to accept it with joy later on. She gave birth to their daughter Hikaru then three years later they had a son named Ryouta. As of currently Kiyoko is once again pregnant with their third child. It very early in the pregnancy so the sex of the child can't be determined yet.

When Kiyoko first met Sosuke she was instantly attracted to him, but his normal stoic behavior and his immense height intimated her at first. Since it was an arranged marriage between them that Kiyoko grandparents pushed on with the approval of her mother she started to spend more time with him. She started to see that he was a sweet guy who actually didn't mind her traditional ways and liked the idea of being her husband instead of what Kiyoko thought that his serious face around her meant he didn't want to be with her but was doing this for his parents sake. Her grandparents found Sosuke to be a good suit for Kiyoko since he had a secure job as a Shinsegumi, was well ranked and through his physical appearance they believe that Kiyoko would bare strong healthy child to him and could help expose Kiyoko to more of the modernism outside of Koibito since he is more of a mixed out look on life.

At first the relationship was rocky since they both have slightly different views of their way of life. Kiyoko would get upset over his lack of enthusiasm for the traditional lifestyle and nag at him about it. Sooner than later they learned to accept each other's views on life and try to come to a compromise. Kiyoko finally accepted on getting a phone and sometimes wears modern-ish clothes, especially when traveling outside of the village. She still retains some traditional feel to her outfits though. Sousuke on the other hand became slightly more traditional in respect for his wife.

Sosuke is very overprotective when it comes to Kiyoko. He's always ready to protect her when needed. He's slow to angry which is a good thing with Kiyoko because her imagination can sometimes be a bit overbearing for the both of them but he just laughs it off and help her come to reality. They are quite affectionate with each other, but mostly in private quarters. In public they try to be as mature as they can. They try not showing too much PDA because Kiyoko wants to respect Sosuke "professional" look in public but that sometimes goes down the drain. It rarely happens though.

Being parents now, they both matured quickly. Kiyoko took on the role of loving mother and Sousuke as the caring, protective father. They try to work together to raise their children as they believe would be good people. Every now and then they would get into an argument like every couple do, about how Sousuke doesn't spend much time with the children. But they manage and they usually make up and try not to go to sleep angry with each other. They are still quite affectionate with each other but they limit themselves when their children are around. They both agreed to allow their children the freedom to choose if they rather be traditional or modern.
