Gosh I am so incredibly pleased with the side view of this bab, it turned out exactly how I was hoping~ Not sure how to improve the front view at this point just yet aha. This was a bit of a random inspiration project, partly nostalgia since Misty was my fave as a child and I loved her Horsea~ I love the heart shaped fins, and while I know Horsea only has one fin, there is official art which features a pair and I personally think it's way cuter with two so
Horsea is made from turquoise and vanilla minky. It features machine embroidered eyes and belly markings, with suedecloth fins.

All my patterns are literally just drawn up on a piece of paper haha. I'm not sure if it's the best approach since there's no real method to it, it's mostly intuitive by now

I know what you mean. I've done that before with the manes, tails, and accessories of my pony plush without any trouble. With seadra (as I imagine the same goes for horsea), the body looks straightforward, but the head looks pretty complicated.

Horsea's head wasn't too bad, I think it mostly helps to break things down into more manageable shapes, then combine them together~
