it reminds me of a set on starwars...
background is very painting-looking, and the foreground is realistic...
I have always liked the contrast...
very good job, as you already know, and well...
phallic symbols are always fun.

what's phallic mean? It reminds me of a painting...especially the sky. it looks like a romantic sky. (romantic as in the time period)

I love the nice warm lighting from the sun and the shadows cast from it. You are so good at lighting, keep it up.

Nice stuff! The portrait view really through me off - I was sure from the tn it was a photograph.
Only fault I could bring out is the extreme smoothness of the lines of the terrain - that's the immediate clue that it's artificial. But I'm not sure if there's a way to disguise that in TG.

I really like the lighting. It has a real Fantasy style to it.

100 comments already. Let's see what I can find to say. I, too, had an "ooooo" moment when it came up in my devwatch, but upon Full Viewing, I have to agree with you Stotty that it's too smooth and maybe a bit too peaky. Still, I think there's a way to make it work. Tigaer has it right in saying that it looks like the Valley of the Jedi from Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, and that leads me to the "solution". If the spire is to be that smooth, you'd expect rather constant and/or high winds to erode but also polish it. As such, if the bottom half (which the part that REALLY reminds me of the Star Wars universe) showed evidence of wind, you'd be gold. Swirls of blown dust are what I have in mind. Probably not possible in Terragen, but it's a thought. Great work as usual Stotty!
