Description Full-view please!
Ah yes! I've finally managed to finish this picture! this picture have been drawn on, then put aside so many times I've lost count...

Anyway, the three masked guerrillas you see on the picture are:
the repitllian on the far left with the shotgun is 's character, he didn't came out looking very repilian..
Next in the middle is once again (I've drawn him on the Boring Guerrilla pic too [link] ) 's cat character who is defently the one I'm most pleased with on the picture!
and the last one to the far rigth, reloading his AKSU is 's no-named character I'm quite pleased

However I've noticed lately that many seem to missunderstand why I draw guerrillas, since people has asked me when I showed me this picture "are they gonna rob the bank?" Let me resite what I said first time I drew a Pablo [link] :
"When I drew him, I was thinking of the guerilla fighters from the fifties in Latin America. These guyes WORE more the less freedom fighters since they were actually trying to get rid of their country's dictator."

Leviathan's reptile character is (c) ~leviathan248 KodyYoungs character (c) ~KodyYoung Deathxdoors no-named character (c) ~deathxdoor

uuugh.. it's about time I hidden away these old old drawings Β
but yea I guess I had been drawing for about 2 years at that point. I improved quite abit in the early years but stagneted in the recent years

I was playing STALKER shadow of chernobyl, I very fast got afraid of fighting that close in *shudders* I would much rather be a bit farther away. If you ever draw me in close quarters, please don't put me on point. Anywhere but point. Put me outside! That's it outside! A hostage at the very least. <.<

hey GOOD guess, since you're the first to see the resemblence! WEll yea, they are inspired by the Zapatista.. so I guess you could say they are anthro versions of the Zapatista eventhough I'm not calling them that..

First off, let me say, I apologize for not having comment on this any earlier. It's just that I had a lot to say but I wasn't able to fit in one time of writing.

Anyways, wow, this is looking good! The colors are so vivid and everything on the page stands out! I definietely love seeing you portray my character as well as others. And that AKS-74U is so nice looking! you got every detail put into the guns!
the only thing is I'd have to say bad is, i should've noticed my character's stiff pose before...
It's still a totally awesome painting! thanks so much!
Anyway I hope you will like yours...

thanks for liking it ^^
but yea your character came out quite stiff compared to the others, but then again, he was the one I drew all on free hand..

"Anyway I hope you will like yours..."
I love it! good thing I didn't read this comment of yours so I didn't know about the picture

Gee, this looks great in colour. I really like the greens you've chosen for the camos, reminds me of the "lizard" scheme they put on the A-10 tank buster planes (My favourite aircraft XD).

That AK's pretty damn good too, the clip release lever is a little big but other than that you've done a really good job on it.

One observation I noticed was the front to back-preportions. What I mean by this is that you're making them a bit skinny around the torso area. For example, the guy on the left is wearing a Flack Jacket right? Flack jackets are like any armour, very thick and bulky, it has to stop a bullet so it has to be. If you took that jacket to be of correct thickness, it would make the character very very thin. I've been told off a bit by ~jezcardia for this several times so it's a fairly common mistake. She told me to draw the character's body first, then draw the armour on overtop.
On the same note, the back is as curved in shape as the front of the chest, and it wouldn't go astray to make the shoulder blades more prenounced. Don't be afraid to bulk up your character's chest muscle as well, they're guerillas who would be constantly moving about to stay ahead of the government so they'll be relatively fit and in good shape. They talk about "the hourglass shape" for drawing females, and whilst it's not as noticable for a male, that curve is still there.

Ok, that's all can think of for now, awesome guns, incredible colour, just watch out for that torso shape.

Buhuuu! you've used more words on the negative sides of the picture, than on the positive! that should mean the picture it's overall bad!

well, you've got a very good point about the amor.. since it's way too thin.. as for musclis and broader looking characters.. that's too difficult for me.. I don't have any clue how to draw muscils proporly... but I'm working on it though...

Ugh, I really need to draw more often.. (and not to mention faster too)

Illogical-Lynx In reply to SteinWill [2006-09-24 09:55:11 +0000 UTC]

Aww, don't take it like that! Just think of it in terms of your next drawing should be that much better
I tend to write a lot when I'm giving critique, I'm always afraid I'll come across as too blunt If I don't. Sorry if that was a bit negative though, I always mean well with my comments

When I do my drawings, I start out with a stick figure, then add a really rough outline with polygon sort-of shapes. It's easy to spot if I've made a mistake on the preportions or body shape, and it's a lot easier to change than the finished drawing.

I need to draw more often too, when was my last drawing, like a month ago?! I blame school!

Yes, you are definaitly getting way better at firearms!, the AK looks fantastic, not perfact, but alot better then you used to be. The is definaitly a fave here since colored, this picture looks way better then the sketch one. My only gripe is that Deathsdoor's character looks alittle stiff, but thats just me, and just remember, the magazines on rifles are wide, since there rounds are as long as your finger.

thanks alot for your comment, I like ti when people are honest like you.. yea, I realize DEathxdoor's char looks kinda stiff, but oh well, just have to remeber that to the next time.. Wider magazines? good idea, I'll remeber that..
but where is the fav? I can't see it.. can you? (I'm rather... strict about getting the fav's)

Dude! This looks fantastic!!! Awesome work! I have to agree with you, the cat character turned out really well! I have to say as well, I really like what you did with the background, the coloartion of the walls and such... Definitely looks like something you'd expect to find in a guerilla warfare situation Your also becoming a lot better at drawing firearms, they're perfectly positioned and scaled with the characters and the way they're being held has a natural feel. Excellent work man!
