So, long story, my sister commented that she's better at shading than me and I complained that saying that isn't fair, because I haven't shaded anything recently and she challenged me to shade something------- I drew this for 2p!America's icons in 2p!HetaOni, but then I was like, why not shade it? So I did. It didn't come out the way I wanted it to though. My sister is better than me...

I'm guessing your sister may do cell shading, or something similar? It always looks 'more' shaded than graduated shading, although I think you always tend to use less dramatic shading on characters anyway, so it's much less noticeable. Perhaps using a darker brush/colour for your shading might make it look more shaded, if you haven't tried it already?

Thanks, I'll give it a try the next time I'm shading something. In all honesty, I'm not a huge fan of cell shading... It always looks weird when I do it. My sister does a large variation of shadings and she practices it more often than I do, so it's natural that over time she'd get better than me. Again, thanks for the advice.

I used to hate cell shading, but then I spent about a week of my school holidays doing nothing but watching speedpaints on YouTube... I got the hang of it, although it's a week I'll never get back XD
