No he's not totally naked, just nearly. Was an excuse to draw muscle I guess lol. Plus, he's a little out of character here, normally he'd be extremely bashful about posing like this.I also notice (now anyway) a couple flaws, but what can ya do when you notice these things months after you've finished coloring it? Just make note and improve future drawings.
Here you can at least see that the "mane" on his tail doesn't go from his lower back to the tip, it breaks up for a short length before picking up again.

I need to draw more of Nathan really, guy need some love haha. Yeah for a shy guy you probably wouldn't catch him posing like this, had to get him a little out of character to draw this pic 
I actually need to try photoshop someday, but I do love traditional media, especially my markers. I actually have been thinking about making a few tutorials to show how I do my full drawing process. I figure I could do one for the sketch, inks, and then color. I just need to sit down with that intent in mind and be sure to make the scans as I go along.
Oh and I use Prismacolor markers, I have a set of 12 copics that I have yet to really test, but so far I like those too. I am a fan of the Prisma's though

Yeah Those tutorials sound awesome! I'd sure as hell try them out! When you ink your pictures, do you also go over the lines in black marker? I noticed that the lines are thicker in some places. I really admire how you manage to make everything so soft and gradient-looking
Must buy Prismacolors and Copis! Those are going on my "things-to-buy-whenever-I-find-a-job" list

OH yeah I need to do some character sheets myself! 
I actually have a set of different Prismacolor and Micron fineliners that are all different thicknesses, from like .005 to .08 or so. I kinda use a layering up process with those as well, start with the .005, then I usually use the .01 and .05 for the very very outter edge sometimes.
Those markers blend fairly well for the most part, kinda have to get used to them some but once you do they're so much fun to use. I highly recommend them

Wow that's interesting! I have microns as well, 2 different types (a fine-tip pen type and one that's a bit more like a skinny marker) and all with those same sizes, too.
As far as shadows/highlights, do you just naturally know where to place them? You always have spot-on skills when it comes to that

I LOVE micron's and prismacolor liners, copic fineliners too, the more assorted sizes the better lol. Even though usually I only use maybe 3 different points
Um I just kinda try to visualize or imagine where the light source is coming from and then just imagine the shape of a shoulder or muzzle or something and where the shadow might fall. I'm not sure that I'm really all that awesome at it sometimes haha but hey shit happens right? Lighting and shading are two things I've been pushing myself to be more consistent on, not sure if it's working yet or not lol.

lol I thought I had packed my pencils away to go in storage while we try and sell our lake house, but I guess I brought mine with me because they were in my closet here at my step-mom's house. I guess I lucked out haha

might sound cliche or silly, but his colors and some of his design kinda came to me in a dream. I was dreaming about drawing lol and had been trying to think up a new garg character at the time(for other reasons than a new 'sona - I fell in love with him after he was on paper and decided to make him more than what he was originally destined for) and well here he is lol
Only drawing and/or character that has ever come to me that way. Not even Tala found me that way, so he's definitely special to me.
