Brilliant!
I love the one on the right because of the expression and the lighting.
I like the motion blur of the head on the one on the left but I have an aversion to it because the clothes look a bit bought-from-a-fancy-dress-shop rather then genuinely scuffy clothing.

I guess I'd have to read the book, but the shots are nicely lit and the costumes are well done. Good work overall. Oh and the model is cute too.

Ah yes, I see. This one doesn't work so well as the other one that I just commented on though. The effect of shaking the head is very confrontational for some reason, so it works best if we see the subject up front. Still, it's pretty neat

the impact would be greater as separate entities

Because the two of them belong together and they need to be viewed next to each other. I don't care if two seperate deviations would have brought me more faves/comments. It just isn't right to seperate them.
