Description I've seen a lot of these Pernese Dragon Size charts floating around on dA, and decided to try doing one myself. At first I thought I was doing pretty well, but I realized once I got smaller and smaller that Ruth isn't anywhere near as big as he should be. I guess my dragons are too short, because Ruth should be at least five feet at the shoulders, and he clearly doesn't make it. Otherwise, though, I guess it's pretty good for a first try. You can definitely expect a re-try in the future, though.

Most of the other charts I've seen are very good (some of them definitely better than mine), whether they measure in feet or meters. I myself am more a fan of the feet measurement, simply because the concept of housing, feeding, and caring for thousands of creatures so gargantuan seems impossible to me. Besides, smaller dragons live on just a couple herdbeasts a sevenday, right? If they were measured in meters, a couple herdbeasts would be a mere snack. And in any case, dragons measured in feet look plenty huge to me, so I'm happy to believe that slight is right.

hey, I like your chart. your dragons look pretty pernese to me. I admire that you noticed the height thing of Ruth, your eye seems cut out for this sort of thing. I scaled the larger dragons in mine a little longer, and shorter with slightly smaller heads proportionally to thier bodies than the smaller dragons. Just figured they'd grow into themselves. Honestly, it seemed like the only way to get it to work! So you could try it. Scooching up the front legs seems all you need to do though, this looks pretty accurate to me. Deffinitely think you should take a second crack at it! I always wonder how to possition the neck!? I've seen long necks, short necks, necks held up others extended... you'd think to include full neck length. but then again if the neck is long, it throws thing out of proportion. Yours makes a good compromise on the length of the neck and still keeps it extended, that's good! I really don't think you did shabby at all!

Well, one thing to note is that their metabolism was treated quite reptilian in regards to food requirements. For example, my 4 foot long snake *grows* on one adult mouse every 14 days. A herdbeast (read: cow) can easily weigh over 1000 pounds. So that's near to three thousand pounds of food a week for the smaller dragons. And there's no way a bronze could make a "cage of his claws" at that size (see: Dragonflight) Nor are the eyes bigger than a person's head. You also couldn't fit multiple people on a green, much less Ruth who has carried more than one as well. Remember than the riders are on the *neck*. Ruth here could never carry a rider. Carenath was described as being similar in size to Sean's horse, if I recall DragonsDawn correctly.

So... size-nit-picking aside, this is a really nice size chart. I like your design for the dragons.
