Description
Another in-game portrait from the Planescape series--one of the good guys. Since she's supposed to be a big celestial butt-kicker, I tried to make her a bit intimidating... And maybe just a bit predatory--her features are meant to favor a bird of prey.Pencil rendering painted using Photoshop. The working size was 1600 x 1200; the pic is 256 x 400 (max) in-game.

I really like the texture on this one! Her jaw looks a bit too square, but I suppose it's not impossible for a woman to have a jaw like that.

She is beautiful. You said you were going for a sort of 'bird-of-prey' effect. I think the angular features help--but the amber eyes are very hawkish... I wouldn't call her intimidating, though. I think she actually has an almost soft, sympathetic expression... but maybe that's just me. Like she's listening to whatever it is that I'm saying.

Gorgeous lighting! She looks quite masculine, a lot of people like drawing "androgynous" looking characters, but it's always men who look like women.

I love this. First of all the colors are wonderful. That blue is just....amazing. My favorite part of this other than the hair (which, by the way, is gorgeously detailed) is the coloring style. It almost looks like colored pencil with that texture. I really like it. Again, beautiful artwork and I can't wait to see more!

Yeah, well at least you can rest assured that your portraits have been used in other places. 
Anyway, to the picture itself. I have say one thing that really amazes me is that you work under a pencil sketch yet the coloring is still very clear and detailed. I assume you either work really big, or have really tiny pencils!

Spore old buddy, what game are all these awesome portraits FOR?? They're not making a Planescape:Torment sequel, are they? Because I bloody love that game. I thought Interplay was all bankrupted and shut down though.

The portraits were for a Planescape setting for Neverwinter Nights by CoDI (City of Doors Initiative/volunteer effort). This group is/was a very dedicated, talented crew, but it seems the project is down for the count. I haven't heard from anyone in about a year. Kinda sad--the stuff that was produced was phenomenal...
