Description Ctenosauriscus koeneni

Temporal range: Early Triassic, Olenekian, ~248–247 Ma

Length: Est. around ~3-4 metres
Probable mass: Around ~150-300 kilograms?

Etymology: Comb reptile


Ctenosauriscus was a genus of high-spined poposaur that lived during the Early Triassic. Fossils have been found in latest Olenekian deposits, ~247.5-247.2 million years old, making it one of the first known archosaurs.

Bisons don't have a ridge like tall-backed chameleons or theropods...they have a hump.

Nicely done. I love the eye and eye-spot colors. Its also awesome to see that the idea of sail-backs are being replaced with humps in the Archosaur family.

It seems that many people give such animals sails just because they have tall neural spines. More meat on those broad spines is far more likely and is a very nice change.
