Yeah, DK definitely holds a special place in my heart...it was my first video game (for my handheld). Well, it was technically a semi-port of DKC called "Donkey Kong Land", which was mostly the same, although it had some slightly different content.

Oh man I love this style! Makes me think of 90s animation. DKC was probably my favorite SNES game besides Megaman X. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

Yes! You liked DK Country? Man, that was my chilldhood! Also, did you hear about DK Country Returns? It revives the old series!

Yeah, I adore DKCR! In fact, up until I purchased Skyward Sword, I think that was my favourite game on the Wii...Maybe with the exception of Smash Bros. Brawl!

I really hope they make a sequel to this remake. That would just be great! Also, you play Brawl? I'm trying to go pro in that gaem, actually.

Yeah, I agree! Retro Studios has really been impressing me, as of late! I'd really like a sequel on my handheld, personally! My first introduction to the series, was actually Donkey Kong Land for Gameboy, which was a semi-port of Donkey Kong Country, with a bit of different content (actually, that game was my very first portable video game!). A sequel on 3DS would really bring back some major nostalgia for me!
Yeah, I'm a huge Smash Bros. fan...although admittedly, I haven't really played it since fall, due to busy schedules, and Skyward Sword taking up all my gaming time!

Let's hope for that sequel!
Ah. Skyward Sword is taking up your time? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! I love that game!

Iβve recently bought the 64 DK game and itβs the first time Iβve played it and havenβt passed it yet but Iβm loving it so far and I love the characters. I wish they would make like a sequel to it.
I have DK country returns for Wii. Its fun but I didnβt found it as great as people say it was. I actually lost interest in it and probably wonβt finish it XD

Wow, really?! In my opinion, it's the other way around! I think that DKCR is my favourite game on Wii, after Smash Bros! I didn't really get into Donkey Kong 64, because I actually didn't like any of the new characters...They kinda ruined some of the continuity of the franchise, in my opionion. Here's why:
-Chunky Kong is the strongest character in the game...which would be fine, if he wasn't a Kong! Donkey Kong is supposed to be the strongest of the Kongs, which has always been what the franchise mentioned in the dialogue both before that game, and since. That is part of why Donkey Kong is the ruler/protector of their island!
-Trixie Kong has the ability to shrink and grow to extremely different sizes, as some sort of natural ability. The rest of the characters fit within the realm of what is physically possible, and not possible in that universe, yet she somehow defies that! I mean, yes...there's a certain suspension of disbelief that you must have playing that game, because the physics are exaggerated (such as Dixie being able to get some air-time by swinging her hair). But the difference is that it still fits within the realm of what they tell us is, and isn't possible in that franchise, whereas Trixie just displayed powers that aren't really justified.
-Lanky...I just don't like him! Technically he's the new character that makes the most sense. Nothing wrong with how he plays, or anything like that. I just personally I don't like his design or personality!
The gameplay wasn't bad by any means...Nor was the game! It just didn't have the same Donkey Kong feeling as the games that I grew up with, and clocked in countless hours playing. But hey...That's just my opinion, and if you prefer DK64 better, I support you!

Chunky Kong is sort of justified. After all DKC3 introduced a toddler the size of DK named Kiddy Kong.

Haha, thanks! Oh yeah, I definitely heard about that! I mean e3 in general was awesome this year for Nintendo fans, but Donkey Kong Country Returns had me giddy as a school-girl...In the manliest way possible of course!

Thanks, I'm glad ya like the pic! Yeah, that was the highlight of the series for me. I wish they'd go back to the classics soon...I'm desperately craving a new DK game, that's that's more like the snes era stuff! But who know? I mean, Nintendo did just announce a new big reveal at their next expo! Since they're starting to remake all their classics, we may see something in the near future!

Either way, here's to hoping!

Thanks! Glad ya like it!!!
The main program I used is a program called "Paint Tool Sai"...I love that program! It feels so natural when you draw with it! And the crazy thing is it's like 11mb or something like that, yet runs so well!
I did final touch ups like the border around the characters and whatnot on Photoshop.

Glad you like the Diddy pose...figuring out what to do with Diddy took a while!!! As for Dixie, she was a bit of an after thought, and therefore not as much time went into her as the other two. Oh, well...What's done is done!

In my opinion, DK will never live up to its former glory as long as Nintendo is in charge of it. Rare was fantastic at making the older games seem atmospheric and slightly scary. And if David C. Wise isn't writing the music for the next game, then I don't want to play it.

Your description of what Rare did really hits the hammer on the nail! I agree that Rare truly did wonders with the franchise...Too bad they broke their ties with Nintendo.
