Been meaning to ask you - do Sugoju follow the same roles as Pokémon? (Rattata and Zubat analogues, Magikarp expy, etc.)

For example:
- Rodent creatures that show up early in the region's Pokedex that are encoutnered early on - the first enemies you meet, and the ones with the most basic attacks. Generally rather plain-looking, not too fancy. Examples: Bidoof, Rattata,
- Early-game three-stage arthropod, another early-game creature that grows up relatively quickly and generally learns a wide range of moves. Examples: Butterfree, Beautifly
- A counterpart to the above, a sort of 'evil' bug that attacks in large groups. Usually some form of Poison-type. Examples: Beedrill
- That One Enemy - A critter that you will soon come to fucking hate - the Zubats of the Pokemon world. They're weak, but they're fast, they have debuffs, and they just keep fucking coming. Meganula or Destoroyah spawn could fill this rather well.
- Rather common Pokemon, usually aquatic, that starts off weak, but if given plenty of love and attention, it will grow into an absolute fucking MONSTER. Gyarados and Magikarp, Feebas and Milotic, etc.
- A humanoid-ish fighting type based on a real-life martial arts style - the Hitmonlees and Sawks and such. Jet Jaguar would be perfect for this, or maybe the ones from Colossal.

I'm down to help you with that, if you want.
Basically, a lot of Pokemon over the generations fall into several main categories - if you want, I can talk about them to you via DMs.
