Megalon is a giant mole cricket, mutated by underground nuclear testing. He first emerged in the Venezuelan countryside, destabilizing the ground beneath farmhouses, and devouring their crops and livestock. He was later confronted by Godzilla, but managed to escape. He later emerged in Hokuto, Japan, being mind-controlled by Apex, and sent to destroy the surrounding area, with the help of their genetic hybrid Gigan. The duo were later confronted by Godzilla and Jet Jaguar, with Megalon being dispacted and sent to the Monster Island, while Gigan and Apex got away.
