Character of the Week #151 at Conceptart.org: Puss in Boots! I did a watercolor approach this time instead of digital, and I think I like this better. It seemed to go faster, anyway.My idea for this was to show the scene at the end of the tale where Puss invites his master as well as the King and the princess into the castle he has just stolen from the ogre. I had trouble getting the right composition (being able to show both Puss in detail and the castle) but found a reference that helped quite a bit.
This is the first time I've really done such a challenging angle/perspective on complicated architecture, so while I know there's some mistakes I am still pretty pleased with how it turned out. I'm also rather happy with the texture on the stones. :3

wow, you made quick work of that! I *love* that extreme perspective, and you really did pull it off well, and I would agree, the cobblestone texture totally does rock.

Well, since this is a Chow (Character of the Week) entry, the 'due date' is every Sunday/Monday, so you have one week only to do the painting. Obviously I could have taken more time on it for class... and I am still considering whether I want to go back and add some more color/details in the top area, but overall I think it's done.
