Description A guided missile that has two settings: the first setting locks on to a moving target, and the second setting locks on to a heat signature. This makes it very versatile, able to be used in a variety of ways and even as a countermissile system.

Nice. What type of rounds does it use?

40mm High-Explosive, Fin-stabilized Rockets.

That's a really neat design. if I may offer a suggestion, though?

Have the tilt-up cover a little larger and act as a missile tray. So instead of balancing the rocket on that tray and closing the cover on it, you slip the rocket into the cover and lock it closed.

That would probably work a lot better...Now to search for my export files on this...

Also, locking onto moving target seems a bit crazy - how would you pick out which target to hit on a crowded battlefield, and how would you lock on? Repullsor drive signature like Star Wars might make sense and complement heat nicely.

Well, the moving target isn't really meant for locking onto infantry, it's more for locking onto aircraft and vehicles, especially unmanned craft where it would be hard to lock onto a heat sig.

The problem with that is you gotta track the target until it locks on - how are you going to lock targets going at a very high speed?

Well, why would you need to track a target at high speeds? The only thing would be a missile (this could act as a countermissile system), and if it's heading towards you, it's simply getting closer and closer.

Right, but that's ideal conditions. Typically, a rocket launcher like this is fired as a target moving perpendicular to you, or from behind, after it has passed - at least with current technology like Stingers and all that.

I mean, even a helicopter goes at several hundred kilometers per hour.
