Oh I must be clear that the pattern is part of the original cover of Hyper Light Drifter. I kept that aspect so it keeps the aesthetic of the inspiration.
My art-fu isn't THAT leet XD At first I thought I needed to redo the patterning and I was "oh good lord where do I even begin???" It's more complex than I initially expected.
Then a friend gave me the tip that I could cut the pattern out and make it a mask.
