It looks very clever, but it's a bit soft in places.

Hm, this belongs to the photo manipulation category.

hmm i beg to differ.. why do you say that??

I don't like to be mean, but this is a manipulation in my eyes. I know what it is like to do realistic paintings as I do it all the time and there are just some things that catch my eye. Anyway, forgive me if I'm mistaken.

well what do you see?? i would like your help.. tho when i did this i didn't know how to make short fur..with out doing it all one by one.. i don't have the time for that... i worked it out yesterday that i had to tick my other dynamics and use the fade to get my brush strokes short... this i wanna redo the actual face area cause using the smudge and blending makes for a blurry picture which i don't like..
the way i did this was following a few tuts that i had read,,, by drawing outline... blocking in colours and colours for the shadows and highlights where.. blurring to blend then the details.. as i said it was a quickie.. it really was a call for help from someone that knew how to do fur properly but after days of reading and trials i think i have it kinda figured, as ya seen in my Tiger from today

I'm sure that the Tiger is a real artwork, so as a logician I can only come to the obvious conclusion that this one is real as well. It's just that the form of the head, the eyes and the colors are identical. I've seen people faking such pics by simply smudging over it. Oh well, just forget what I said before

nooo .. you have a right to your opinion.. and i appreciate that mate as for the colours.. hmm i made a colour palette from the original image i just learnt that too b4 doing this ^.^ and i can see now where your coming at as this don't have much detail.. which when i get time i will be redoing this as my skills and knowledge have gotten better thanks again for your insight i really appreciate it

Lions look cuddly and huggable, the trick is not letting them hug you back.

i rather like the soft look- although in reality it would have a sharper look. Eyes are lovely- smoky and mysterious..nice work

you can use the sharpening tool with the same fur brush you used to smudge the hair ^^
very nice... encouraging me to put my trials as well ^^

Although I am always impressed with your work; especially your photography, I will say that this caught my eye, and you know how I rarely comment unless I think really worthy of note.

Sonny2005 In reply to wolfskin [2006-09-09 18:28:29 +0000 UTC]

yep... not how I wanted... but i cant get the fur to look sharp like some can.. all i do is blotch colour on... smudge it.. then add like fur lines and smudge that too... tho i am sure that's not the proper way of explaining it...lol

I get the idea.

Sharp details have never been my strong point, so I can't really offer any tips, lol.
