I like it! I'm the same way with movies, too. Hillbilly horrors and slasher films are just Tuesday for me; War of the Worlds was TERRIFYING. And don't worry about the quality; it's more than a lot of people (myself included) could possibly do!

I think a good idea would be a tripod standing over at night, its three lights pointed at you with its heat rays charging upΒ

One thing that Spielberg's movie did right is the Tripod's design and all (the machines, at least). And their siren-thingy, which is creepy.
Tripods don't look like your typical alien-spaceships.Β
They seriously don't look like something that came from space.Β
They have more in common with the monsters under your bed than anything else.
Great pic here. Very creepy and disturbing effect.

I completely agree with you on that, something about menacing appearance of the Tripod.Β

I totally agree! It was the tripods that made the story SO frightening.
Great work. Gave me the creeps looking at it.

I'm with you. War of the Worlds is one of the only movies out there that I shake through an entire viewing and have had multiple bad dreams about.

Great pic!
One night I dreamt that I stumbled upon one of those tripods in a corridor at home. I mean, it was a tripod whose size was suitable for my corridor... Only two metres high. But, oh, my, it was so scary to find it and see that it started to run after me... And making those horrid fog horn sounds...
Really, the movie scared me at that moment, when the tripods attack at first time. At that scene, I was like "Why the hell donΒ΄t they start running madly for their life?" >O<

I can't bring myself to watch the movie, I listened to the original soundtrack just yesterday and have been on edge since! This is an amazing picture. You can really see the hesitation, to run or just stare entranced? Great work! Love it!

I'm still afraid of the noise those things made, and now it's my ringtone and whenever I get a call or text that noise plays and you should hear me scream!!

Same! I was 13 when I saw this film and I had nightmares for weeks. It was so worth it though. The same thing goes for movies like signs and silent hill. I prefer movies with subtle horror rather than slasher, gore, or surprise there`s a scary monster out of no where. Honestly, everytime a snow plow wakes me up in the middle of the night the first thought that goes through my head is that is a tripod warming up its lazer beams lol. I like the mood of this picture. Though I think it would have blended together better if the tripod had the same comic book effect as the bottom of the picture. I've added it to my favs, I love it! x3

I totally feel you on the tripods. I don't know if it was the fact of them being buried or how they acted. Hell, it could have even been the sound they made, but they really got to me. Normally, I can sketch something out and it leave me alone, but they didn't. They still creep me out. I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one.
Anyway! This is really well done and it's looks so really. I seriously thought this was a digital piece due to that, but wow! This is definitely a fave for me.

It's a pretty good version. The only thing I don't like about it is that screaming kid. I know I'd fall apart seeing several of thoese Tripods coming after me, but that girl just bothers me.
