Description My in-progress steampunk werewolf costume. I say 'in progress', as this was the first time I'd put it all together and... well, lots of bits broke. I tried to keep it light by using dense polystyrene foam, but it doesn't hold up to strain that well. There were full spaulders and vambraces made of craft foam but they snapped when I tried to pull the buckles closed. I actually like it better without them in a way.

He looks far less fearsome than I expected. Kind of... like a kitsune, almost I think it's the trousers. They're from a Bleach cosplay costume I bought some time ago, and they're the only things I have baggy enough to cover the stilts.

Lots of fixing to do. You can see a claw missing, I think, and my lower jaw's a little slack because the leather strap broke off. Ah, the joys of testing...

Incidentally, this is why I haven't written anything or updated in a long while. Sorry to all those who've been waiting for me to say something interesting regarding Legacy, heh.

Stupendous! You're a great author AND a great artist! That's one hell of a combination, Gandhi.

Stunning design! I particularly like the hands and feet, and of course the spiney...spine part Best of luck getting it all to stay together, sounds like a lot of work

Hehe, thank you ^__^; The feet and hands almost came together by accident. The gauntlets were going to be a lot more involved but looked better once I was half-finished I came across the parts for the feet looking through a sale section at a hardware store. I didn't know what to do with them at the time until the friend of mine who was helping me build the stilts suggested they could be paws. So that was nice of him ^__^

Of course, at least half of the entire costume is glue. That helps much...

Hee, that sounds familiar - I love buying bits and pieces on sale in the vague certainty that they'll come in useful *one* day It certainly looks most professional, glue or not

It certainly looks like a lot of work. I can't possibly hold it against you.

Now, I'm by no means an expert on metalworking, but perhaps a darker color (if easily done, if at all possible) would help? Apart from fixing the contraption itself, there's not much else I can add. I really like the approach to this, it's very unique (at least, I've never seen anything like it before).

It's been a work in progress for a while ^__^;

It's not actually metal, except for the breastplate- it's funky foam. I've worn a suit made of metal before and it wasn't pleasant after a two-day convention >.>; Still, I'm going to add some paint flecks to add a bit more depth to the breastplate, though, as I understand what you mean about the colour. I definitely don't want it to look too clean, but it's the best decent quality approximation I could get to a dull brass. It's actually car spray paint, heh.

Oh, I see, I see...

Why does it seem that the best tricks are often the simplest?

Eee, it's definitely been my most ambitious costume so far. It's odd, he turned out a lot more respectable than I expected! he kinda looks like a scholar more than a hardened monster. I'm a little disappointed that the arm armour didn't work out, but... maybe I can salvage some of it. I'll post up some more pictures once the reinforcements have been made.
