This is my submission to the Alternate Americas contest. In this history, Mexico accepted the Zimmerman telegram and entered WWI. After Mexico was decisively defeated, The U.S. annexed it's border states partly to serve as a buffer zone.Related content

Yes, they did. In OTL, Mexico turned down Germany's offer because the Mexican army at the time would not have stood a chance against the U.S.
