The more existential question is: are you more inclined to this style or the linework drawings. Those might be mutually exclusive things to pursue or so saying goes. Nice painting by the way!

Glad you like it! I had fun painting this. It was good practice (used Velazquez's work for reference. He's one of my favorite portrait painters).

He is amazing, isn't he? But then, I love classic Spanish (and Flemish) painting in general. When we had a visiting exhibition from Museo del Prado in my city, I was like, 'Let me through!' *heart-eyes*

Omg I love studying other peoples' work! It's amazing to see someone make an incredible piece and just sit there in wonder of how they made it. It's like a puzzle you're trying to solve.
