Description 7" Mark II naval gun from obsolete 1904 battleship, USS New Hampshire, taken out of storage in 1942 and used in Hawaii fortifications. Two of these weapons were placed in front of the War Memorial Natatorium in eastern Waikiki after WW2 (I used to play on them) and then relocated to Battery Randolph when the latter was converted into a museum.
The original weapon was a 14" Model 1910 gun mounted on a M1907 "disappearing' carriage which allowed the gun to be kept out of sight until ready for use.
The hotel in the background is the "Hale Koa" (House of the Warrior), which is reserved for the use of the armed forces.

Haha, I've been to that very gun. Took a picture down it's barrel.

I used to play on it when I was a kid back in the 50's. Both guns were in front of the Natatorium a couple of miles to the east.
