Description
This is the lineart version of a small drawing I made of SkekLa, my skeksis fancharacter, in order to introduce her a little better than I had with my small attempt at a ref sheet...Here you have SkekLa posing for the pic. You can see all the usual traits that distinguish this particular skeksis here: The metal claw in his right index, the drawing quill, the saggy and not-so-pompous-as-the-other's robes, and the big round weird eyes...
SkekLa also has this small scraggly mane she's incredibly proud of, since most of her kind don't have as much hair in their heads anymore ^^.
I'll upload the colored official version next, so you can appreciate the pallete related to the character (Although, funnily enough, it is likely most of the drawings featuring her will be Black and white as most of my works XD)

I am glad you liked the coloring as well!...It's defiant to me when I have to color anything...I kinda dread coloring time...So I'm glad you think it's good!

Ooohh I know what you mean, recently I seem to enjoy sketching and doing lineart more than colouring my pictures.
I think your colouring is great! I loved the choice of colours, plus it sorta reminds me of a gothic dress I have X3.
oh yeah hey, did you watch the episode of The Jim Henson Creature Shop Challenge where the teams had to make their own Skeksis puppets?? 8D.

Yes, I know...but I'm quite a low profiled person...and don't get too praised or even noticed where I am...so...This is new for me. It still surprises me how you people love what I do here on DA...

HAHAHAH those are actually my clothes...I just put them on my skek-self...I was wearing that long black vest and the burgundy shirt just yesterday...XD
Oh yes!...and I suffered a lot with poor Skekdero's spastic failure...I liked him and his design! ...the servos didn't...poor thing. Then Skeksith was great with his green garments and woodland accesories, and Skagath too...his eyes were weird, Skagath's...but he looked awesome overall!!!

Oh I know how that feels, I'm not exactly a very well known artist either, I just like sharing my art up here and if anyone else enjoys it then that's a bonus 
oh yes! I liked where they were going with the desert one but I liked the woodland and Frozen wastes one best. I loved how the woodland one had a blind eye, it just looked so awesome!.

Yes...I'm at the same place as you with my drawings...I do live on what I sculpt, but...my true love goes to drawing...Ahhh I just wish I could have entered some editorial, magazine or whateever where I could use this as a life mean...sigh...It's not that I don't like sculpting, it's just that my entire passion goes to drawing!!!...
Yes...but then he servo-failed and had a sort of seizure while he tried to "take hold of the scepter"...it looked more like he was "so happy that he convulsed" XD The poor thing.
Then, the frozen wasteland one was a lovey dovey thing!!!

I always have the debate though, would I want to turn something I enjoy into a job and risk making it a chore and no longer fun! D:.
yeah it seemed a lot of the mechanics didn't work for him, it was sad the girl got voted out but she really didn't seem to do a very good job of the animatronics. It's like she kinda knew some basics of what she was doing but took on something she wasn't quite prepared for.
They would certainly look interesting drawn in your style, I can't help but wonder. Especially the forest on. I loved the Frozen wasteland one but I agree with the judges the eyes were a little too wide apart, I'd like to see what he would of looked like without such wide eyes.

Hmmmmm it's a fairly good question!!! Sometimes it does happen that when you take your "fun" into work...it ruins. I must take care for that! Thanks for the warning....
Yes...poor old Skeksis...That girl was too decided to bite far more than she could chew...too bad for her...one must not only try to do one's best, but ALSO recognize and care for one's weaknesses, since we all have them!...That one girl seemed to me as too proud and surly as to ever triumph. A little bit of team work (even when you don't quite like it) could have helped...but she seemed too decided to rule and boss around the others. The "I'm the one who's always right" proposal kind?...That...and well...That turned back on her. I am nevertheless sorry for her quick departure, she lost a good chance there.
Hmmmmm it could be!...It would be nice to draw them now you say it...I ponder I could at least sketch them a bit...that's a good idea!
Yes. Those two designs were awesome, but also agree, te forest wasteland one (Ska'gath) had too wide set eyes...and looked a bit loopy because of it. The poor thing might have gotten that stranded gaze because of the extreme cold he lived in, we could assume

I know Skeksis do like their layers but for Arid Desert I think I would love to of seen one that was emaciated with mummy like bandage wrappings as it's base layer then lots of other desert dwelling clothing ontop, maybe a turban style head piece. I might have to try doodling out what I pictured in my head XD.
yes she did seem a bit like that, like she knew she wasn't too good with animatronics but claimed she was fine with it. :/. I was actually hoping the guy wouldn't get voted out as he did do a bloody good job sculpting the face

True!...A turban...or mummy bandages...or even a sort of gauze or light linen "dress" would have been more original to a desert skeksis!...THAT could have been all layered, and still not as hot as ALL THOSE HEAVY ROBES looked!...Don't you think?

Yeah, while the other girl possibly could have done better with the fabric work she still did a pretty good job with what she made, she probably could have done more and more ageing to the fabric if she didn't have to wait so long for the voted out girl to finish working the animatronics DX.

This SkekLa of mine is more feminine than masculine, but being a hermaphrodite as the others, is referred to as a "HE" like it happens with the others, out of mere use ( and possibly out of the emperor's preference of masculinity as a "strong, dominant" trait...?)
Well, my SkekLa refuses almost pathologically to harm slaves whether they are podlings or gelflings...Podlings (when they are not drained) result a little annoying to Illustrator SkekLa with all their constant singing and dancing, but that doesn't imply he'd harm them.He just tends to roll eyes at them.
Gelflings are simply another kind of people to him, nor good or bad. Of course he fears the prophecy as much as any skeksis, but SkekLa believes firmly in the capacity of the skeksis clan to stop that from happening. Besides many gelflings served in the castle, and they proved themselves quite sympathetic and useful, didn't they? ^^. That's what he'd say.

^^ It's great for me too!...I love knowing others who share my likings! (And when I happen to like Smeagol/Gollum from Lord of the Rings and the skeksis, it's not so easy to find other fellow fans!!!)
TDC is one of the most brilliant and underrated I ever saw...and believe me that's a lot to say, I'm a cinephile, and I'm already 32 yrs old...I watched a LOT of movies...And TDC still holds it's candle for me!!!

Hahaha really? Im 33! Just yet! I was around 11 or something when I saw it for the first time and it was on BBC that I remember! I was to late, I remember the part when I switched it on that channel that they were sitting at the dinner table with the mouse like thing ran over the table! Oh...I saw it at home when I was...seven or eight I think. My dad rented it and feared it would scare me...but I loved...THE SKEKSIS...While they disgusted him...hahahahah...poor dad.

Hahahahahaha!!! I like skekZok and skekTek also a lot. skekTek reminds me a lot of steampunk like and hes pretty smart as well. He has a very scary voice tho.
