I like the concept, painting isn't too bad, thinking more contrast and better lighting+background,I realy should use reference but for some reason i can never be arsed to search google even though it only takes 2 secs hehe

i think you should use this as a base of a more detailed image. You have the solid shapes and mass, shading etc.
Go over the tree now with cracked bark and shit. Maybe some fire flies or floating seed stuff glowing white in the twightight of the sun in the air too. Mushrooms growing at the base. If it looks shit you can always undo it.

if i had a wacom id be able to smash it out, its tiiiiime consuming - took me about 4 hours with a mouse on this, or longer :/
