Inktober day 11 - Run#inktober #inktober2017
Initially I wasn't sure what I would do for run.
Then I thought of Cthulhu and run was just an obvious choice.
Again, this started as a little thumbnail and then I made it more complicated and it took longer.
I need to do some smaller and less complicated ones so I can keep at it.
I think the bulk of my inktober images may be sea related. We'll see.

I love that little seaside settlement which is why I'm dreading the arrival of their newest visitor. Let's hope he decides to stop at the next exit instead. (“Yeah, go be Motel 6's problem!”) This Old One looks pretty powerful and tough, in skin and in attitude. His menacing glare is scare enough, but those flailing tentacles can't be good for one's health either. With the water churning and the twisting in his form I get the sense of how heavy he is as he ascends, which makes it clear how very powerful he is. It's also pretty neat how he can stand out so much against the lovely scenery and clouds even with an all-ink composition. (I'd guess that the shading is the biggest factor.)
Where's Godzilla when you really need him?

Cthulhu came out well. I used a thicker/darker brush pen to do some of the darker outlines for him.
That helps, but yes, the shading plays the biggest role. I had to add more line shading because he was not quite dark enough.

I am only vaguely aware of what BPRD is about. I know it has Abe Sapien and, I think, Hellboy, but beyond that I don't know.
Is it somewhat Cthulhian or Lovecraftian based?

Hellboy went solo. The Hell on Earth storyline of BPRD centers on the fight against lovecraftian creatures invading the world. If you can check the issues drawn buy James Harren, do not hesitate (also his series "Rumble" is a marvel story and drawing-wise).
