Wow love the way you captured the beauty of Luna here Mellifluousadventure, been meaning to draw her for such a long time but curses on never getting even as close as you did with perfection in a human form, bravo!
Have to say most blown away as any deviant can be at how well you fleshed out her pony attributes with your own style and even more the fact you can still catch the references of her familiar design, now that's skilled talent at hand there.
Most taken by the way she's looking up and the way her hair flows, sure you have a reason for that but can't help just picture this being at night with her hair flowing into and towards the moon itself, or something of that beauty-like caliber.
Speaking of beauty just love the way you manage the face, its the best part of the pic. Soft lips with a warm glow of blue, nice rounded cheeks and even that have that sense of elegance and innocence tied to them, man its hard as hell to keep my own eyes away.
Rather like the way you went to you color your work, very different from most Photoshop elements seen where its just an overall smoothness from top to bottom but yours shows even more realism the way the skin is shaded or the face lights up in such a warm and welcoming feel, impressive.
Captivating work done though for the hair, its another centerpiece on the image to say the least. How well you flesh out the many threads in her hair and not all them going in one direction but waving back and forth with one flowing over the other, its almost like water or how seen some anime artists do it.
Whatever have left to say can only sum it up as a standing ovation to you and your wonderful work here Mellifluousadventure, bravo to you and all the best in New Year. *tips hat*

Bah, I wish i could do this(its a really good idea!) but i didnt make them with wallpaper dimensions in mind and theres no way thered be enough room for both of them the canvas without having this dumb point where their hair abruptly cuts off. :C

Haha. Its actually supposed to be a reference to their ascension to princesshood. Celestia's is bloom because she blossomed elegantly into a her role and is all happy joyful whatever. And Luna's is penumbra of the events of Luna Eclipsed where she hit her patch showing that her rise was not so eloquent.
Or maybe I just got carried away with the Dramatic Wind again.
We just dont know.
